What I Figured Out About Myself And The Homemaker/Housekeeping Content Creators On YouTube
I have been a housekeeper/homemaker for 29 years. I have also homeschooled six of my kids all the way through, and am still in the thicket with a 14-year-old. It has been the longest-running gig of my life and I will be glad when it is over. It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed it, yes I have, but not all the time. I have felt like what would I be doing if I wasn’t teaching every day for the past 26 years and daydreamed about that.
I began homeschooling when my firstborn was a baby and just continued on through. I didn’t know about homeschooling as a lifestyle at first, I was just teaching my son to do things. I “officially” started with my son when he was five. I joined a homeschool co-op, bought my first of many homeschool books, and added five more kids over the years, and developed a curriculum of life and learning.
I have homeschooled during times of extreme leanness. We were never rich. My husband was the sole breadwinner and I knew how to budget, stretch and prioritize, but still, this wasn’t always enough, but I made it work. I educated my children well and know for a fact that you don’t need to be rich nor wealthy to homeschool.
